The research team in partnership with the cultural diversity and migration in the Quebec region, EDIQ announces the holding of its first international congress under the theme: "Time of crisis: space for reflection on migration and cultural diversity.’’

The event will be held face-to-face at the campus of Laval University, in Quebec City from June 7 to 9, 2022.

This activity comes at an important time. In that, the debate is agitated around the questions of migration, culture, and the cohabitation of cultures within Canadian society, particularly in Quebec. The initiators of this event, in a message posted on their site, made it clear that their main objective is to create "a multidisciplinary and international space for sharing scientific knowledge, know-how and practices" between people who want to understand the challenges of migration and the management of cultural diversity in times of crisis.

To provide a space for collective reflection, an opportunity for familiarisation between actors sharing these same challenges, to consider sharing practices, strategies, and knowledge on this theme (migration and cultural diversity), EDIQ is launching an invitation to students, researchers, and other professionals to take part in this conference.

As everything must revolve around migration and cultural diversity, again according to the description of the EDIQ, this moment of sharing will be a great opportunity to discuss the different strategies initiated in the context of migration and cultural diversity. The responses are institutional concerning changes in society, and the influence of representations of oneself and the other on the interactions between people and/or groups of people in situations.
